Marina Shavlovskaya is a Gdańsk-based artist creating contemporary symbolic art inspired by mythology, nature, feminine archetypes and the emotional power of color. Her artistic practice combines painting, linocut, lithography, mixed media and wall painting.
Marina graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk with a Master’s degree in Painting. Her artistic background combines figurative training, symbolic thinking and experimental work with color, texture and handmade graphic techniques.
A central part of her work is the series The World of Mythology, where Slavic mythology, goddesses of nature, seasonal cycles and archetypal figures become a way to speak about transformation, inner freedom, strength and the connection between human beings and nature.
Another important direction is Magia Kwiatów / The Magic of Flowers — a series devoted to the symbolic language of flowers. In these works, flowers are not only natural forms, but carriers of emotion, memory, sensuality and hidden meaning.
Alongside her studio practice, Marina works with exhibitions, cultural projects, art workshops and individual commissions. She has presented her works in solo and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including Gdańsk, Sopot, Gdynia, Szczecin, Białogard and Budapest.
